About Us
The Bendigo Share and Repair Shed is a community based organisation that started as the Bendigo Repair Cafe in 2017 and has since grown to include a Tool Library, Useful Bin, Food is Free Table and a range of other ‘re’ and ‘up’ cycling services.
We also offer a ‘one stop’ recycling drop off for small items and a Community Swap table where people can pick up and/or drop off useful items.
Our experienced volunteers also offer workshops, education and general information about recycling, upcycling and reusing.
Our current plans include ‘the Bendigo Remakery’ - an upcycled clothing and gift shop, and the creation of maker spaces for textile and other remanufacturing.
Our Purpose
By collecting, repairing, and sharing used tools, equipment, textiles and other materials our volunteers aim to reduce waste generation and lessen the load going to landfill.
Bendigo Repair Cafe
The Bendigo Repair Cafe is part of a world wide movement that encourages people to try fixing first. It is a place for sharing skills and knowledge about repairing. We are a volunteer run group that fixes broken things to save them from landfill…a place where things are fixed and friends are made.
We provide a local ‘library of things’ that you might need to repair and maintain your home and belongings. Our tools are both used and new - garden tools, construction tools, kitchen tools, woodworking tools and artist tools. If it’s a tool we’ll try and stock it as we grow and expand!
We believe everyone should have access to the tools they need and that by sharing we can reduce waste, save money and keep ‘stuff’ out of landfill.
The Remakery
Launched November 2023, The Remakery is the most recent addition to the Bendigo Share and Repair Shed site!
An eco-conscious boutique stocking handmade items created by local volunteers, utilising upcycled locally sourced materials.
